SSF held event at Fullwell Cross Library on Saturday 14th September 2019.
This was a public information event where various organisations from Redbridge came together to provide support and information for anyone who wanted to know where they can get help if needed.


SSF held an interactive ‘Let’s talk about mental health’, workshop

Sky Sharma Foundation held yet another intriguing mental health evening workshop on Wednesday 21st August at Redbridge Library, York Room, Ilford to raise awareness amongst parents and young adults.


SSF participated in Downshall Primary School Fair

Downshall Primary School held a Summer Fair today (12-07-19) and invited SSF to hold an awareness stall.
The Summer fair had various stall holders including a bouncy castle, fairground ride, children’s talent shows and snacks available for the parents and children. 


One Kind Act Ritu Soni, organised a fundraising afternoon tea in aid of Sky Sharma Foundation.

Lovely Sunday afternoon on 7th July SSF were invited to talk about their work. Neelam told her tragic story and what lead her to start up the charity of raising awareness of Mental Health. She spoke about how important it is to speak up especially in our Asian community as we tend to hide our feeling and do not seek help for fear of being labelled. 


Another successful workshop held at Gearies primary school by SSF

SSF and their partner The Improved You held another successful workshop at Gearies primary school on Friday 28th June 2019.

Sky’s parents Dinesh and Neelam were invited to the Annual RSU Awards Ceremony 2019 to hand out the Award to the winner of Sky Sharma Performance Award. 


SSF ran two mental health workshops at Farnham Green Primary school


Sky Sharma Foundation held two successful mental health workshops 21st May and 24th May at Farnham Green Primary School for children who will be transitioning into secondary school in September.

Talented young student Antonia Arbova product ‘Make Up Your Mind’

Antonia is a bright student studying for her GCSE at Ursuline Academy, Redbridge. For her GCSE project she has designed a product for Mental Health, the product is flat packed and called ‘Make up your mind’, this is a house which has rooms, one bedroom, kitchen and living room and furniture.

SSF were invited by Roehampton university on Friday 08th March to hold a stall and speak to students about mental wellbeing during the University Mental Health Week.

Sky Sharma Foundation held their 2nd Annual Music Concert Be My Hero

BE MY HERO 2 was held at Becks Theatre in Hayes. The evening was hosted by Shiv and Selina Hotwani with  Bhasker Patel from Emmerdale. Singers, Navin Kundra, Ketan Kansara, Sharon C Smith, Urmi  Chakraborty, Sanjna Vekaria,and Vikesh Champaneri set the stage on fire with their singing performances with the mind blowing music played by the Dhani band D26.

SSF brings a little Christmas spirit to the teenagers at Brookside Hospital, Goodmayes.


The SSF team decided to hand out Christmas presents to Brookside Hospital, who provide services to young people with acute mental health conditions and support to their families. 


Mayor of Redbridge attends charity dinner and dance in support of Sky Sharma Foundation

Be My Hero concert a success

On Christmas day SSF gave out warm scarfs, bags and food which was donated by Aldi. Cooked food was also served by Punjabi Lounge to the homeless outside Ilford police station.

SSF joined Redbridge Institute at their Mental Health Festival

Sky Sharma Foundation became an integral part of the Redbridge Institute Mental Health Festival at Gaysham Avenue in Ilford. Our aim was to reach out and touch the hearts of the guests who came to be a part of the festival and spread our own message on mental health to "Identify Listen & Act".

SSF - World Suicide Prevention Day

Sky Sharma Foundation were first to join the Fairlop Power League to raise awareness of mental health on World Suicide Prevention Day, 10th September 2017. The match was held at the FPL cricket ground, which involved various teams across London competing against each other.


Downshall Primary School – Teacher’s Inset Day

Downshall Primary School held a Teacher’s Inset day on Tuesday 5th September, upon their return from the summer break. Sky Sharma Foundation were invited to converse about Mental Health in young children and discuss ideas on how teachers can keep an eye on vulnerable children suffering from mental illness’ and provide the support they need.

Fundraising Event at Roehampton University


After our last year’s successful fundraising event held at Roehampton University to celebrate Sky’s birthday, Sky Sharma Foundation (SSF) held a second fundraising event at Roehampton University on 28th March 2017 at the Hive.


Mental Health Awareness workshop held in Ilford by Sky Sharma Foundation

Saturday 25th February 2017 SSF held their first Workshop on Mental Health at the Central Library in Ilford. The host Mrs. Neelam Sharma welcomed the guests and introduced Maria Zatat who is the felicitator of Sky Sharma Foundation. Maria spoke about different types of Mental Health issues suffered by individuals, from Depression, Anxiety, Eating Disorder and more, how it affects the brain and recognising the signs early. 


SSF team handed out breakfast to the homeless sleeping rough 

On the morning of 24-12-16, Christmas Eve SSF team went out early to hand out breakfast and hot teas to the homeless sleeping rough on the cold streets of Ilford.
Breakfast is the first most important meal of the day, it helps stimulate the mind with positive thoughts. 


SSF Charity Raises Awareness of Mental Health in the Minority Communities

Sky Sharma Foundation (SSF) held their first fundraising charity dinner and dance event on Friday 25th November at the Tabla restaurant in Ilford.

This event was held to promote the charity, SSF and to raise awareness of Mental Health especially in the Ethnic minority communities. It is a known fact that one in four people in the UK will experience a mental health problem in a given one year. Depression and Anxiety are the most common mental health problems in the poor and disadvantaged people, who are greatly affected by mental health problems. 


Freelance hair and makeup artist dedicated his time to raise funds for SSF charity

Darren Evans contributed his efforts and valuable time to raise funds for SSF and create awareness of Mental Health.


Creating awareness on Mental Health Day

SSF team organised an awareness and fundraising event on 11th October 2016 Mental Health Day’, at Bar Wotever in Royal  Vauxhall Tarvern.


Sky’s Birthday was celebrated by holding a fundraising event at his University

Sky’s (Akash’s) birthday was celebrated by holding a fundraising/awareness event at The University of Roehampton (Sky’s university (2013-2015)).

Sky’s friends, with the help of the head of Roehampton Student Union (RSU) George Cole, collaborated and organised this event with members of Sky’s family to celebrate Sky's birthday together with raising funds for his charity, namely Sky Sharma Foundation –SSF.


In Memory of Sky (Akash) Acer tree planted at Roehampton University

In Loving memory of Sky (Akash) a memorial and tree planting ceremony was held at Roehampton University on 26th January 2016 at the Convent Parlour.

Family and friends were joined by the Staff, tutors and students to celebrate Sky's (Akash) life and to plant a tree in the garden outside the drama building where Sky (Akash) loved to study.


SSF organised a Religious Hymns event for the opening of their charity

SSF held a musical religious event on the 20th February at Nagrecha Hall, Leyton.

On this special day religious hymns were sang by Anju Serohi, Mrs Kapoor, Mrs Saroj,Vikas and other guests who kindly lead the singing and everyone else participated and sang along to the hymns, supported by Mr Ajay Nagla playing the Tabla drums. . 


Clothes to the homeless in the Welcome Centre 

On Friday 26th February, Team SSF handed out clean clothes to the homeless in the Welcome Centre, Ilford, London. 

The SSF team were met by the homeless men and women, who utilise the shelter facility for warm food prepared and served by the shelter chef and for general personal cleanliness. The team members spoke with some of the visitors to try and understand the difficulties they face on a day to day basis, and how, due to their circumstances they have become homeless. They all had a sad story to tell.
